Today’s world is inundated with massive streams of data, however, decision makers do not always have timely access to the most relevant and critical linkages across global and local data for real-time situation analysis. By presenting information alongside impact in this way, we can re-envisage the built ecologies of the future, with the goal of changing the way we decode and solve complex environmental challenges.

BEEM Lab emerged as a concept through a collaboration between the schools of architecture and theater in 1994 for the Yale Cabaret allegorically titled NUDA VERITAS - ‘naked truth’. We use this laboratory as a space to collectively reflect upon information, ideate, facilitate discussion, and query scientific data. This process helps to reveal the hidden impact of information to our individual lives and how we collectively organize as societies.

We collaborate with partners from multiple universities, industries, government agencies, and nonprofits to conduct scientific and humanities-based research and inquiry that is integrated into our pedagogical curriculum.
